High availability (BCP)

Thanks to the synchronous mirror, Quick-EDD/OPEN manages in real time the replication of the data of your primary storage to a secondary storage. This one can be of any vendor and technology.

If the primary storage or a network component fails, there is an automatic fail-over on the secondary storage; this is transparent for the application servers, the production goes on without any downtime.

Real-time data replication in block
mode, without agents on the application
servers

To ensure your Business Continuity, a synchronous mirror is set between 2 EDD/OPEN servers, each having its own physical storage pool.
EDD/OPEN maps to each application server one or more mirrored virtual volumes: when the server writes, data is written simultaneously on both storage pools.

Automatic Fail-over
The application servers have 2 access paths to the mirrored volume. If one element of the primary path fails (network, primary EDD/OPEN server), the I/Os are automatically redirected on the secondary path: this is transparent for the application servers that keep working normally.
